Fund performance

Emerging markets hit top spot and CLO funds rebound after blip
After a challenging March, which saw eight out of 10 fund categories dip into negative returns, April saw all categories post positive results. Emerging markets funds, which took the wooden spoon the previous month with an average decline of 3.1%, turned that performance around dramatically to record the best segment performance for April, adding an average of 2.61%.
In second place, CLO funds rebounded from an underwhelming March to post an average gain of 2.17%. The sector accounted for six of the top 10 best-performing funds in Creditflux’s index for April.
Credit multi-strategy took third spot for sector performance, helped by robust returns for Blueglen’s two European credit funds.
Year-to-date, structured finance is the best segment performer, with its constituent funds delivering an average return of 1.98%, ahead of emerging markets at 1.32%.

Leading fund
Sound Point Harbor Fund
Sound Point’s Harbor Fund edged to a narrow victory among the funds tracked by Creditflux in April, delivering an estimated return of 6.14% for the month, just in front of Blueglen Opportunities Credit Fund I, which recorded a gain of 6.12%.
The result is the strongest for the CLO fund since the COVID-impacted returns of May and June 2020, and more recently, its gain of 5.25% in May last year. Over the past 12 months, the fund has seen some significant ups and downs, with its trailing 12-month performance to the end of April showing a decline of 7.09%. The fund is down 7.60% compared to the end of 2025. Since its launch in July 2019, its annualised return comes out at 8.43%.
Sound Point Harbor Fund makes predominantly opportunistic plays in third-party CLO equity and mezzanine tranches, in new issue and secondary markets.
Blueglen had a strong month. In addition to the healthy performance for Opportunities Credit Fund I, its European Credit Funds I and II gained 5.42% and 5.40%.
