Arena takes turn in the lead as mix of funds make top 10
After CLO funds dominated the list of top performers in July, August saw much more variety, with six different category types in the top 10. A UCITS credit fund, Arena Capital Advisors’ BayernInvest Alpha Select Bond Fund, headed the table, ahead of Spire’s Credit Strategies Sub-Fund and Alegra’s CLO Opportunities Fund.
The latter fund has also proven the strongest performer in our index over the past 12 months, delivering a cumulative return of 21.49%.
August saw a return to positive average returns across the board. Pictet’s Pleiad Credit Opportunities Fund delivered a return of 1.43%, its second-best month this year after May, and in the process powered credit funds of funds to the best category performance, albeit off a restricted sample size. Emerging markets funds also backed up their strong performance in June with another good result in August, returning an average of 1.16%.
