A fiery start
to the year
A fiery start
to the year
Welcome to the first issue of the Creditflux magazine for 2026. Our cover pays homage to the Lunar New Year, which begins on February 17 and is symbolised by the horse. Indeed, according to the Chinese zodiac, this is the year of the rare fire horse, which should usher in a period of dynamic and bold moves, but also the potential for turbulence.
A little over a month into the new year, 2026 is living up to its fire horse imagery. Debt markets are awaiting a massive volume of data centre debt issuance as hyperscalers of all stripes seek to finance their capex needs. On the flipside, the fear of artificial intelligence is slamming software leveraged loans, which is shifting the landscape for the broader leveraged finance and CLO markets.
In this issue, we also have global CLO rankings for 2025, a fascinating exploration of job changes among CLO lawyers and managers mainly due to the growth of the market, and CLO secondary data from KopenTech.
